Evangelisches Werk für Diakonie und Entwicklung e. V.

Confidential reporting of incidents and complaints

We aim to carry out our work in accordance with the EWDE Code of Conduct. We do not tolerate corruption, bribery, fraud or misappropriation, endangerment of child welfare and sexualised violence. We also strive for a working atmosphere in which conflicts of interest, discrimination or harassment have no place. As a charitable organisation, EWDE, with its three brands Brot für die Welt, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and Diakonie Deutschland, as well as its subsidiaries Dienste in Übersee gGmbH and Evangelische Zentralstelle für Entwicklungshilfe e.V., has a particular responsibility to ensure proper use of the taxpayers’ money and donations with which it is entrusted, to account for these funds and design its own work in the interests of the beneficiaries and stakeholder groups and in a manner which is transparent to the public.

In order to uphold these principles, we have set up a portal so you can report malpractice and complaints about violations which do not comply with our values to us confidentially. By providing your report or your complaint, you are helping us to uncover irregularities at an early stage. This enables us to act before damage is even incurred wherever possible or provide remedy in the event damage has already been incurred. If you wish, it is possible to submit an anonymous report.

All information and complaints will be taken seriously and processed in strict confidentiality. This prevents information from being passed on without your consent and thus provides important protection against retaliation. EWDE guarantees that there will be no negative consequences for you if, at the point in time you submit your report, you have sufficient reason to believe that the information submitted by you is true.

When you submit the report, you can select whether your report or your complaint is processed by an ombudsperson independent of EWDE or by an internal EWDE Integrity Team. Please see the FAQs for more information.
